1. Changing Sentence (The Passive) :
Complete this conversation between two friends, using the words
after it( a-i)and the correct passive forms.
Antara : Have you seen my recent posts on Facebook?
Amy : Yes, they are lovely. a) Where were the photographs taken?
Antara : On my way to Barisal from Dhaka.
Amy : Okay. (b) And when were the photographs taken?
Antara : Last week when I went to my cousin’s wedding party.
Amy : (c) I was not invited. So I did not know.
Antara : (d) The party was not planned much. And sorry that you are not invited.
(e) Many people were not invited.
(f) A big party will be arranged soon.
Amy : (g) How many people were invited to the previous one?
Antara : All family members only roundly about 15-20.
Amy : (h) How many people will be invited to the next one?
Antara : A few hundred. I guess.
Amy : (i) I’m not surprised. It should be like that.

Suppose you are Lima/Limon. You are a student of class nine in
Sreepur Kumuria High School, Sreepur. In your school, you don’t have
any supply of safe drinking water. Now, write an application to your
Headteacher to arrange safe drinking water for the students.

Dear sir,
We have the honour to draw your kind attention to the fact that our school campus does not supply pure drinking water. As a result, we have been suffering from the acute scarcity of pure drink water. Some of the students have already got fatal diseases like Cholera, Diarrhoea by taking impure water.
We, therefore, pray and hope that your honour would be kind enough to take the necessary steps to supply pure drinking water in the canteen of the sufferings of the students.
